2021.12.07 06:05 IceeTrayyy I was given a castle and village but I'm not really sure what to do now.

I am fairly new to the game, I got 54 hours in but I am a bit lost rn. When I started the game I spent most of my time in a cycle of fighting in tournaments, trading, and also fighting looters on my way to other tournaments. I built up my first 25k and ended up spending the majority of it on the caravan with better guards. It cost me a bit over 22k, I didn't want to risk buying the cheaper one and having it immediately captured. It was going fairly well for a while then I bumped into the NPC I assigned to be the caravan leader in a random town. I looked around the map all confused and then concluded that the caravan was most likely captured so RIP my 23k. At this point, I had pretty high renown and I noticed I was tier 2 so I decided to become a Battanian vassal. A while later I got given a castle without really doing anything besides running around and helping battanian people with their quests. I'm not really sure what to do now or how to manage the castles and villages at all, or even what to do as a vassal. It's all a bit complicated to me so I was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction.

2021.12.07 06:05 shortyafter I don't have to be the best at everything.

Don't get me wrong, this doesn't mean that I want to sit in F rank and make photon cannons in my base. I can do better than that. But at the same time, I don't have to be the best at this game. I don't even have to be good at it. To me, it's enough just to enjoy it and feel happy knowing that I'm taking little steps to improve. Lately I've been on a pretty bad streak, and last night felt that way as well. I haven't had a good night in awhile it seems.
I was feeling disheartened, but I realized that those good streaks and good games are like a beacon of hope for me. If I did it once, I can do it again. And it's true that in most of my games I'm doing things that are very positive, even if I lose. I'm not going to say that I don't care about winning, because to me that seems kind of phony. Winning is fun. Nobody likes losing. But I also know that good things come to those who wait. You have to be patient, and you have to persist.
The movie Karate Kid (the original, obviously) is one of my favorites. There's a scene that I really like, and that's where Daniel is injured and can't go on, but he pleads with Mr. Miyagi to do his oriental healing trick (lol) on his leg. Mr. Miyagi says, "no, why? You had a good tournament. Winning or losing doesn't matter".
But Daniel makes his case: "if I don't fight then those guys are going to know they got the best of me. There's no balance in that." And Mr. Miyagi agrees to fix his leg and help him fight. (Spoiler alert, Daniel ends up winning.)
That's how I feel about this game, and what my relationship is to it. Like I've said before, I don't have to be good at everything in life. I personally don't love soccer, so I have no interest in being good at it. But Brood War? That's been part of my life for a long time, and I love watching it, and I enjoy playing it. If that's the case, why not take steps to improve?
But it's not because I have to have a shiny rank, or walk around with some sort of ego like "yo man I'm good at an online game". No. It's just about balance. It's about knowing that I gave it my best, and even if I wasn't the best, I gave it an honest shot. At the end of the day that's all I can control in life. I don't know how many hours my opponents are putting into the game, and I don't even know if they're happy. Maybe they are, not everybody who beats me is automatically a bitter loser, lol. But you never know. People in general are miserable and have their priorities all out of whack, I know from experience.
Last night I was on a random BW stream and said something in chat and someone said, "wow, is that shortyafter from Reddit?" Apparently my "blog posts" have been shared quite a bit in the community (to what extent I'm not exactly sure). But that was really cool. I don't consider myself a professional BW player (obviously), nor is that my goal. I consider myself a writer. Brood War fits nicely into that, which honestly might be a big part of the reason I'm still playing and grinding.
So what I want to say is that, as the title says, you don't have to be good at everything. I think it takes courage to go your own way, and to figure out what's important to you. It takes a lot of trial and error and persistence, too, just as is the case with StarCraft. Lord knows how many times I've fallen flat on my face. But I'm still here. I'm still doing the deal. Do I have doubts sometimes? You bet! Sometimes I wonder "wtf is the point if I'm not going to be A rank?" But I dunno. I'm just taking it a day at a time. No reason to worry about A rank when I'm still struggling for D.
But just like those little victories in Brood War that remind me "yeah, you can do it!", it's those little victories with my writing that tell me "hey, man, who knows where this could go?". I dunno. You only live once. I don't know what's important to you, and if Brood War is the thing, then go for it! It's a beautiful game. But maybe it's not. Maybe it's art. Maybe it's music. Maybe it's triathlons. I don't know. But whatever it is, why not go for it? You don't have to be the best at it, but with a little courage and a little heart, who knows what amazing things could come of it?
Cheers folks for being so receptive to what I've posted, I hope it helps.

Traditionally, the 5000 year old science of Ayurveda used an array of herbal tea to manage ailments and prevent diseases. Ayurvedic medicinal culture propagates the gifts of nature and consuming herbal health-boosting teas to boost immunity, enhance immunity, and prevent seasonal ailments. And these herbal infusions also known as Kadha used various anti-inflammatory herbs and extracted their therapeutic properties.
But luckily, you don't have to go looking for ancient Ayurvedic scriptures, researching the ultimate Ayurvedic tea for immunity booster because we already did that.
Butterfly Ayurveda's Ayush Kwath is an effective herbal concoction made from nature's gems like Tulsi, Dalchini, Sunthi, and Kali Mirch. This wellness potion boosts immunity, improves digestion, enhances respiratory health, and eliminates toxins from the body.

How to prepare this immunity boost tea

  • Add 3 grams of Ayush Kwath to 150 ml of water.
  • Add jaggery or draksha (raisins) as per taste.
  • Boil the water for 4-5 minutes
  • Sieve the brew in a cup.

2021.12.07 06:05 SweetPotatoStarch39 Drafting Power BI reports

Hi,
I am setting up Power BI reports for different clients, who have different needs. I've been working with Power BI for a couple of months now. I start every project with a handdrawn draft of the report. However, I find it difficult to start building the report. The report is usually made as I go, and it can change vastly from the draft.
Does anyone have any tips on how to prepare before you make the report? How do you usually plan and start the report building?

So I'm looking for music with the same spirit like Trouble - Snake Eyes (sadly this band looks like it was a one time thing for Twin Peaks), or some songs by Sons Of Kemet, like this one (their other songs/albums don't really chime with this one). Preferably albums, or maybe even playlists. Cheers!
